Minerals Cont. - In depth

 Taking the next step forward with minerals, we are talking about three main groups of minerals. Igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks! I will add my concept map below that shows you how each rock came to be. 


For our next lab, we were given a large pile of rocks. We were ask to divide the group into three, by igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. This was SO tricky! I was quite lost in some areas because some rocks look so similar but there are key components that identify a rock to a certain group compared to another.

The bottom picture is my final results I turned in. I know for sure that about 70% of this is right. I ran out of time to have my work double checked. I would definitely like to try this lab again now that I am more familiar with each rock category and its cycle.
